I am a Ukrainian contemporary artist working with expressive figurative painting and abstraction.
My work explores identity, memory and the way we see ourselves and others. Faces and eyes often appear in my paintings, sometimes clear, sometimes fragmented or almost disappearing. I am interested in what we reveal, what we hide and what remains with us long after an experience has passed.
I work intuitively, letting colour, shapes and emotions guide the process. Each painting develops differently, and I don’t always know what the final image will look like when I begin.
My practice includes two series. VISAGES explores the human face and the complexity of identity. Emotional Horizons moves into abstraction, expressing inner states through colour, form and movement.
I leave space for viewers to find their own meaning in my work. For me, a painting doesn’t need to explain everything. Sometimes what matters most is what we recognise in it without being able to put it into words.
I don’t paint people. I paint what remains of them.
